Last week I shared that Mrs. Shunshine came to town and our sister was fully prepared to buy out the city. As a resident of Paris, my credit card was not ready for her shenanigans. The next time sis comes to town I’m going to require a year’s preparation time. I mean our sister was really on some “F*ck it we Ball” type sh*t and we absolutely love to see it!
Mrs. Shunshine’s Guerlain sales associate in the states arranged a bespoke experience for her at Les Champs Elyées flagship location, and she kindly invited me to accompany her and a friend. The tour included a private tour of the flagship, hors d’oeuvres, champagne of our choice, and a bespoke fragrance consultation with a maison expert.
I became familiar with Maison Guerlain over spring when I purchased my first fragrance from their Sevres Spa location. Since then I’ve purchased four more fragrances so when sis extended the invite I was elated to add to my collection.
Maison Guerlain opened their doors almost two hundred years ago in Paris, and was renown for introducing new fragrance families such as oriental and gourmand scents. Allegedly the Maison was also the first to introduce the use of synthetic materials to their fragrances. Their most notable clients included Empress Eugenie, Empress Elizabeth of Austria, Queen Victoria of The United Kingdom, Queen Isabella II of Spain, and Queen Christina of Spain. Maison Guerlain is credited with being the first to offer commercial scents in France.
Whilst the maison expert guided our group through the nooks and crannies of their flagship boutique, I couldn’t help but think now this is a luxury experience. I mean the tour was Paris Chic from the onset.
