The Peninsula Hotel Paris

Once again, Le Paname is getting accused of racism in the headlines. Serena Williams incurred a negative experience at The Peninsula Hotel in Paris that has the world telling Paris to do the walk of shame. She and her children were denied access to dine in the posh hotel’s empty rooftop terrace, and she took to Twitter and tweeted about the experience. The hotel responded that the rooftop was fully booked and that the unoccupied tables Serena saw belonged to their fully reserved restaurant. Serena did not have a reservation.

What’s interesting from Serena’s tweet is that not once did she mention racism. She simply tweeted about her negative experience, c’est tout. Contrarily, Americans on social media have been having a field day with this tea. The comments were the usual Paris is racist, Black Americans should not travel to Paris, and a whole bunch of other scare tactics to keep Black Americans fearful and oppressed in the states. Fear not because Paris Chic Code is here to remind you why this Serena ordeal is none of our Black ass business.
